Tamilnadu government today submitted to the High Court that the permission will not be given to vel Yathirai proposed by BJP as there are chances of covid wave striking again.
On its part, the BJP contended that they would follow all safety norms. The government has not specified any containment zones too. We are also committed to make sure all rules are followed during Vel Yathirai.
Meanwhile senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan said permission should be given to Yathirai. It only reflects the moods and sentiments of people. We assure all safety measures will be followed during the Yathirai.
The party’s month-long ‘Vel Yathirai’ campaign is supposed to begin on November 6 and end on December 6.
BJP leader L Murugan said, ‘It would bring a big change to the party image. Party national president J P Nadda and several other ministers would participate in the yathirai’.
